Lets Go.. Lego!!

Kia Ora whanau,

Room 6 had a wonderful opportunity to have the “lego lady” come in and show our students  how to use legos  as a means of being creative and expressing ourselves by building different objects using legos. We really enjoyed our session with the “lego lady” and were able to come up with lots of creative builds with the different kinds of legos that our students were given. Legos are great to use in classrooms as a great form of relaxation tool as it really calms you down and gets your brain thinking especially when you’re coming up with all sorts of wonderful ideas for your builds. Here is a few snapshots of our session.

Ready Steady Decorate!

Kia Ora! Today in Room 6 we decided to do something different for Art. Instead of painting, drawing or colouring we decided to get creative by decorating some cakes. Before we could decorate the cakes we had to plan and visualise how our cakes are going to look with the given ingredients for the decoration. We also had to make sure we understood how frosting the cakes works and how we can practice safe hygiene when handling food. We had 4 different groups who participated in a “cake decor challenge” and we had to work as a team in order to put up the best looking cake. We really enjoyed working as a team and trusting each other in order to finish this task.  Here are the beautiful results of our hard work. Hope you like them because our tastebuds surely did!
