A glance back at Term 1 in Room 6.

Kia Orana! Room 6 has been working super hard this term and they have put tremendous effort into their learning. They have done well in giving it their best and following their class motto of  “strength in unity we are a family”. We have had an exciting term 1 and this is a snapshot of all the fun things we have been up to.

Room 6 gone Fishin!

Kia Ora! Today we learnt how to make our own fish on a chrome book. We used google drawing to design and create our picture. We used shapes and stretched it out in different directions to make it look like a fish. After that we coloured them in based on our personal preference.  Next we grouped them all together in order to reposition them on the canvas. To  put our names on the canvas we used “word art” to label our pictures. We then had to download the pictures as a PNG image and uploaded them into a folder so that our teacher could access them for the blog post. Have a look below at some of our awesome catch of the day!

Say “SCREEEEEEN SHOTS”!

Kia Ora! Today in Room 6 we have been learning about how to take screen shots. To start the session we watched a video from Mrs Grant who reminded us how to take screen shots using a chrome book. We had to take screen shots of our class sites, our school sites and our class blogs. However, before we could do that we had to first make a copy of a canvas through google drawing. We had to insert our screen shots onto the canvas and had to put our names, some text boxes and some arrows. We had to make sure that our screen shots had to stay in the boarders of the canvas.

Here are some examples of our work

Right Place at the Right Time

Kia Ora! Today during Cyber Smart we learnt about being in the right place at the right time. We brainstormed all the different sites we visit on a daily basis. We also took screen shots of the different sites we visit. This is our first blog post and we are super excited to share our experiences as time goes on. Please feel free to leave us a comment to show us some love and support.

Ready Steady Decorate!

Kia Ora! Today in Room 6 we decided to do something different for Art. Instead of painting, drawing or colouring we decided to get creative by decorating some cakes. Before we could decorate the cakes we had to plan and visualise how our cakes are going to look with the given ingredients for the decoration. We also had to make sure we understood how frosting the cakes works and how we can practice safe hygiene when handling food. We had 4 different groups who participated in a “cake decor challenge” and we had to work as a team in order to put up the best looking cake. We really enjoyed working as a team and trusting each other in order to finish this task.  Here are the beautiful results of our hard work. Hope you like them because our tastebuds surely did!
